While performing a Mail Merge in Act!, you receive the following: "Error: the add method or property is not available because the license to use this application has expired."
There are two known causes for this error:
This error will result if Microsoft Word has not yet been activated. Please ensure that Microsoft Word has been opened and functions independently before attempting to Mail Merge a MS Word document template in Act!.
This error can also be caused by the Norton AntiVirus Microsoft Office Plug-in. For information about the plug-in and how to disable it, please see the following document on Symantec's Web site:

Note: Whilst the above comprises the known causes for this error, it has also been reported when performing a mail merge to a printer when using a corrupted template. To test this, attempt to perform the merge with several different templates instead, or create a new, very basic template and test that. If this is successful, then the problem must be with a corrupted template. You can then attempt to edit your template to remove the corrupted element, perhaps pictures that have been added or complex formatting that could cause an issue during a merge.
