Since the release of ACT! Professional v8, it has been established that errors using Exception to describe the event are .NET related.
There are some elements from .NET syntax that are used in common with SQL, for example, view and integer, therefore .NET based errors share some common traits.
To identify .NET errors, please refer to the following expressions:
|Structural expressions||Data type expressions|
Note: The syntax for .NET errors uses full stops to break the terms included in the names of its elements. Many of these elements are process elements and have brackets at the end that contain parameters. For example, 'Act . UI . ContactViews . ContactViews . OnLoad(ActApplication actApp)'.
Failed to create view Act.UI.IcontactDetailView.: System.Reflection.Target InvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. à System.InvalidOperation Exception: Failed to load ImageList.
At System.Reflection.RuntimeConstructorInfo.SerializationInvoke( Object target, SerializationInfo info, StreamingContext context)
- Most problems happen when the framework is damaged, therefore there is little that can be done in terms of fixes. To reduce the chance of conflict, retry in Selective Startup mode.
- If the problem persists the .NET framework may need to be either repaired, reinstalled or a service pack applied. For further information about this, please refer to the Microsoft website at the following link
- If this does not work then to replace the .NET framework and fix the ACT! installation, manually uninstall then reinstall ACT!
