Title: How to Download and Apply the Latest Version of ACT! 2006
There are two methods of replacing your current set of templates with the latest version.
Method 1 involves downloading the attached .ZIP file of updated reports from this document, and then using WinZip (or another compression utility) to extract the report (.REP) files into the Reports folder for your database.
Method 2 involves creating a new database with the updated software, and then using Windows Explorer to copy the report files created for this new database to overwrite the set of default report files which exist for your current database. Be aware that not all ACT! reports need to be updated.
Caution: If you have modified a report template that is included with the updated reports, you will lose your modifications when you overwrite this template with an updated template and must re-modify the updated report. If you are not currently aware of the exact nature of the modifications made; prior to following either procedure, it is recommended that you open this modified report template and take note of changes made. Please note that not all ACT! reports are included in the update procedures described below.
Follow the steps in the report update method you prefer:
This method uses the attached compressed file of revised Report templates. It will require that you download the file for your region of ACT!

Right-click the appropriate file from the file attachment area of this answer, and then click Save Target As. A Save As dialog box appears.

The next step is to decompress this file and save the templates.
You must use a compression utility such as WinZip to perform this procedure. Most any compression utility will work, including the Windows XP compressed folder utility. If you have modified any of the report templates, in your current ACT! 2006 database, that correspond to the report templates displayed below, you will need to modify the updated templates in the same way. If necessary, open the original templates and take note of the modifications, before proceeding.
Double-click the zip file from the Reports folder on your Windows Desktop. WinZip (or your compression utility) launches:
Extract the files to the Reports folder of each of your database(s). This folder is located in the supplemental files folder. The supplemental files folder will be named <Your_Database_Name> - database files. For example: If your database is named Contacts, your supplemental files folder would be named Contacts - database files. The default location of the supplemental file folders is as follows:
