Question: What are the recommended Microsoft Office update channel settings when using Act! with Office 2019, 2016 or Office 365?

Microsoft has several Update Channels for their Microsoft Office applications:
(Formerly: Current Channel (CC))
|Gives your users the latest released features. It’s great for your mobile users who bring their own devices, your sales force out in the field, and for test systems or pilot programs.|
|Semi-Annual Channel (Targeted)
(Formerly: First release for Deferred Channel (FRDC))
|Gives you time to check out the features and test your customizations or processes.|
(Formerly: Deferred Channel (DC))
|Gives you a couple of months lead-time before you get the latest version. It’s best for desktops and laptops in the office. Enjoy new features, and the fact that millions of users have tested and validate|

While it is not required in order to receive support, it is recommended that you use the Semi-Annual Channel (Formerly Deferred Channel) when using Act! with Office 2019, 2016 and Office 365. The Semi-Annual Channel is the default Office update channel, and Microsoft recommends this as best for Office users who use add-ins, such as the add-ins used with Act! integration and synchronization. Since the Semi-Annual Channel only receives updates a couple of times a year, this gives time for users of pilot update channels to test any application compatibility conflicts before new updates are received through the Semi-Annual Channel, rather than receiving updates immediately, possibly resulting in conflicts with add-ins. If you have changed your update channel, and you've experienced issues using your Office 365 version of Office 2016 or 2019, to protect yourself from compatibility issues, we recommend that you re configure your Office update channel so that you are receiving updates on the Semi-Annual Channel.
