Symptom: Error: “Send As may only be used with read-only templates” when performing a Send As from Swiftpage emarketing in Act!

Create a Read Only copy of the existing template

Solution:
Create a Read Only copy of the existing template
- From the Swiftpage emarketing window, select the Email tab
- Click Edit Template
- Click Save As to create a new copy of the existing template
- Name your copy and click Save
- Click Exit to return to Template Manager
- Select the newly copied template
- Click Make-read only
- Click OK
- Return to Act!
- Close and restart Act! to refresh the template list
- Proceed to send emarketing campaign as usual, selecting the read-only template
Note: The read-only template will likely start with “y_”
- Click Send As to confirm the error does not appear and you are allowed to send
