Steps to Reproduce
- Setup a mandatory field in your database
- Create a new Contact in Act! and enter a value in the mandatory fields and do not click the save icon
- Immediately attach a document to your Contact via the Documents tab
You will now be stuck in the Contact record as it displays a prompt regarding mandatory fields. If you press the browser back button it will allow you to leave the page however you will be logged out of the database.
This issue has been resolved in Update 5 for Act! v20. To download this update, go to the Act! Download Center.
If you are using Act! v19, you can work around this issue by following the steps below:
- Create a new Contact in Act! and enter a value into all mandatory fields
- Click the save icon, then navigate away from the Contact you have created
- Navigate back to the Contact you created, then attach the document
