You would like to know how to check for and download Act! updates.
NOTE: This affects on-premise installations of Act! only, if you are using Act! in the Cloud your database will automatically be updated with each new release.
This Answer explains how to manually check for an Act! update and download it. An update can contain a change to the database schema or possibly a required application fix. The database must be locked to perform the update. Users must be logged out.
NOTE: If you have multiple users working with Act!, any update needs to be applied to all machines using Act! You will need to update the computer that hosts your database first, then all other computers immediately afterwards to ensure that they can still access the newly upgraded database.
Please use the following steps:
- From the Help menu, click Act! Notifications. If an update is available, a message appears at the bottom right of the screen.
- Click the link to begin the download.
