- Click Tools > Design Layouts > Contact (or Company, Group, or Opportunity, depending on which layout you wish to modify
- In the Layout Designer, click view > Tab Stops > Show Tab Stops to bring up the red numbered boxes that show the order the tab key follows when you tab from field to field
- Clear the tab stops by clicking View > Tab Stops > Clear
- Click each of the field boxes in the order you would like them to flow. Each of the boxes will return in the order you specified
- When finished editing, click View > Tab Stops > Show Tab Stops
- Save your layout changes and close out of the Layout Designer
