Note: Importing CSVs through Act! Premium (access via web) does not create new fields. If your CSV file contains fields that do not exist in your database, you must create those fields first, then import into the database. For more information, refer to the following knowledgebase article:

- Go to Tools > Import…
- In the Welcome to Import window, click Next.
- In the Specify Source File window, click Browse… and an Open dialog box appears.
- Navigate to file you want to import, click Open > Next.
- In the Import Type window, you will be prompted to select Typical or Custom import.

- In the Import Type window, select Typical and click Next.
- In the Confirm Import window, click Import.
- The Import Complete window will appear, click Finish.
- Verify that contacts have been imported.

- In the Import Type window, select Custom and click Next.
- In the Specifiy Import Options window, you have an option to import the first record or not. Select the applicable radio button and click Next.
- The Contact Map window will appear, the Map from this field column represents the fields in the file (source) you are importing. The To this field column represents the fields in the Act! database.
- Complete the mapping by ensuring the To this field column has an entry for each field that you wish to receive data into.
- When finished, click Next.
- In the Specify Merge Options window, select the applicable merge options for the source records and click Next.
- In the Confirm Import window, click Import.
- The Import Complete window will appear, click Finish.
- Verify that contacts have been imported.
