Cause: This can be caused by damaged or missing Tahoma font files.

- Download the tahoma.tff and tahomabd.tff files from the bottom of this article onto your desktop
- Navigate to C:\Windows\Fonts
- Move the tahoma.tff and tahomabd.tff files from your desktop into the C:\Windows\Fonts folder
- Overwrite the existing files if prompted
- Try mail merging again
