Workaround:
This occurs due to a registry key that is missing. To work around this:
Important Note: It is strongly recommended that you create a backup of your Windows Registry before proceeding with these steps. Incorrect changes to the registry could result in permanent data loss or corrupted files. Make sure you modify only the keys specified. For information on backing up the Windows Registry, refer to the following Microsoft documentation:
- Download and save the APFW_ISPA_REG_FIX_Updated.bat file from the file File Attachments section at the bottom of this article
- Right-click the file and select Run As Administrator
- Follow the on-screen instructions to have the registry key created
- Press the Windows key + R to bring up the Run dialog
- Type regedit into the Run dialog and press Enter to open the Windows Registry Editor
- Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\ACT\APFWOutlookAddressBooks\1
- In the right-hand pane, right-click WebAPIURL, then choose Modify…
- In the "Value data" field, enter your API URL. For example:
Self hosted users: The connection information is the URL used to access the database, excluding any information that may fall after *.com, then adding /act.web.api . For example, if the database is accessed at https://example.com/apfw , then enter https://example.com/act.web.api
Act! Premium Cloud users: Use the URL that you use to login to your database '-API/act.web.api' to the end. For example, if your login site is https://eup1-iis-05.eu.hosted.act.com/MyCompanyName would use https://eup1-iis-05.eu.hosted.act.com/MyCompanyName/act.web.api
- Click OK
- Close the Registry and try to configure the integration preferences again to test
