What are Assets in Act! Marketing Automation?

Assets are marketing materials that you intend to use for your marketing efforts. These can be URLs to areas of your website, YouTube video links, or PDFs. While these things can be shared as-is without the use of an email marketing platform, tracking their effectiveness can difficult to do that way. The benefit of adding these assets to Act! Marketing Automation is that each asset that is added receives a special link generated specifically for that asset, which provides analytics that allow you to gauge the effectiveness of that asset by tracking:
- How many Impressions (views) an asset is receiving
- How many leads are being generated by the asset
- Average time spent viewing the asset
- Geographical data regarding where in the world your asset is being accessed
These unique links can be referenced inside of Act! Marketing Automation templates, or even shared directly across any social media platform you choose to share them to.
Assets are kept inside of Asset Campaigns, which are essentially a way of grouping and organizing related assets according to your personal marketing initiatives. For example, if you have promotions that you are running on Facebook and Twitter, you could create a separate Asset Campaign for each promotion and add the appropriate assets to each Asset Campaign, respective to the promotion for which they were created. This would allow you to get statistics on which platform your marketing efforts are receiving the most attention.
