On the weekend of February 1st, Swiftpage will be conducting an infrastructure update to the Act! cloud platform that allow for future platform enhancements. We anticipate planned downtime from February 1st at 12:00 AM EST to February 2nd at 6:00 PM EST. Below you will find answers to some frequently asked questions.
Q: Which servers are being updated?
A: Servers that service the US and Australian regions. All other regions will be operational during this time.
Q: When is the planned downtime for cloud-hosted customers?
A: Saturday, Feb 1st, 12:00 AM – Sunday, Feb 2nd, 6:00 PM (all times Eastern)
Q: Why is the cloud infrastructure being updated?
A: Act! is switching cloud hosting providers in order to optimize product and operational performance and allow for future product enhancements.
Q: Will customers experience any data loss?
A: No. All data is completely replicated to the new cloud hosting platform. As always, all backup data will remain available, per our data retention policy.
Q: Will customers be required to update bookmarks to log in after the update?
A: No, there will be no change to existing login links.
Q: If I’m a single-tenant Act! Growth Suite customer does the down-time affect me?
A: Yes, all cloud-based customers are impacted by the down-time.
Q: Will customers be able to synchronize while the cloud server is offline?
A: No. Customers can continue to enter new data in the offline client. Once the infrastructure update is complete synchronization will resume as normal.
Q: Will customers be required to update settings for synchronization?
A: No. synchronizing settings are retained.
Q: Q: Will customers be required to update settings for Outlook or Gmail integration?
A: No. Outlook and Gmail settings are retained.
Q: Will customers be able to access Act! Companion while the cloud server if offline?
A: No. Once the infrastructure update is complete customers will be able to use Act! Companion as normal.
Q: Will 3rd party applications have access to the API?
A: No. The API will be offline during the infrastructure update and will resume as normal once the update is complete. Speak to the 3rd party provider to find out how queued jobs can be re-pushed if required.
