This can occur if you are attempting to apply an incorrect update or if prior installation keys missing from the registry.
If you are attempting to apply the correct update, to resolve this, you will need to uninstall your current installation of Act!, then download and install the full version installation that includes the service pack already built into it. To obtain a download link for your version of Act!, submit a ticket by going to https://www.act.com/resources/contact or contact us via chat at one of the following URLs, depending on where you are located:
Since this is caused by prior installation keys missing from the registry, it is not likely that a conventional uninstallation method will work. You will need to use the Act! Uninstaller Utility to remove Act! from the computer. For instructions, refer to the following knowledgebase article:
