An Annual Event is a field type in Act! that allows you to record special dates regarding your database records which you wish to remember, such as birthdays, anniversaries, policy renewals, etc. Act! has default fields, such as the Birth Date field, that use the field type of Annual Event.
An Annual Event is not the same thing as an Activity in the Act! calendar. Entering a date into an Annual Event field does not result in that event displaying on the calendar, however you can schedule a recurring To-do Activity with an alarm to notify you that the date is coming.
To help you set up a recurring To-do Activity for an Annual Event, you can create a lookup on the desired Annual Event field upcoming dates, then schedule a recurring To-Do for any of the contacts in the Lookup. For more information about lookups, refer to the following knowledgebase article:

Creating Annual Event Fields
If you require an Annual Event field which does not already exist, you can create a custom Annual Event field from the Define Fields feature in Act!. After creating the field, it can be added to the layout so you and other users can see and use it.
