I am attempting to open my database using the .ADF file and after it starts to verify the database, “Working…” never goes away.

Cause: This can be caused by a third party automatic backup system trying to back up the database files at the same time they are being verified.
- Disable the third party backup system from backing up files in the location where the database is located.
- Close Act!
- Click Start and type services.msc
- Right click SQL Server (ACT7) and choose Restart
- Attempt to open the database again
Note: It is recommended that if you wish to create automatic backups of your Act! database, that you use the Act! Scheduler to back up the database, and then use your third party software to create a backup of the Act! backup files. For information on how to configure the Act!
