What is the Act! Website Creator for IIS and how do I use it?

The Act! website Creator for IIS is a lightweight application designed to troubleshoot Act! for Web. It has the ability to create an empty test site, a complete Act! website and new Windows Administrators.
To create a new complete Act! Website:
- Launch the application as a Windows Administrator to display the following dialog
- Provide a unique website name and a unique TCP port. The application will not allow you to use a name or port that is already in use.
- Under the section Authentication, provide either a domain administrator or a local administrator. If you need to create a new administrator, you can do so by selecting Tools, Create and then Local Administrator. (Detailed below).
- Press create to create the website and choose whether you want to go to the site in Internet Explorer now.
Creating an Empty Site
For troubleshooting purposes you can create an empty site using Tools, Create and then Empty Site.
This function works in exatly the same way as Creating a new Act! Website but the resulting site does not contain Act! virtual directories or applictaions.
Creating a Local Administrator
You can use Tools, Create and then Local Administrator to make a new local Windows Administrator user for use with IIS and Act!
Downloading the utility
You should download a new copy of the utility everytime you use is as it is updated frequently. You can download the apfwCreator.exe file from the File Attachments section below.
