A VPN is a private network that uses a public network, such as the Internet, to connect remote sites or users together. Rather than a dedicated connection such as leased line, a VPN uses "virtual" Internet connections. A VPN will often connect a company LAN (Local Area Network) for example, to the remote site.
Act! is supported in the VPN environment. Act! is designed to open a database and synchronize using a working VPN connection. This was not true in previous versions of Act!.
Note: Act! Technical Support will not assist with setting up your VPN. You must have a working VPN connection in order for it to work with Act!.
