You would change the record manager if another Act! user is later made responsible for managing the relationship. For example, your company may have a Act! user that imports contact records into the database from other sources, such as a mailing list. The contact records are imported with that user as the Record Manager. When you assign the contacts to other Act! users, you would need to change the Record Manager setting.
Record Types with a Record Manager
Record types that have a Record Manager are:
- Contacts
- Groups
- Companies
- Opportunities
- Notes
- Histories
- Activity series
The Record Manager can do the following:
- Assign the record to another Restricted and above user.
- Delete the record.
- Assign access to the record.
You can:
- Run reports and filter the data by Record Manager.
- Add the Record Manager column to the Contact, Group, and Company List views to easily see the Record Manager for records.
