Create a Template
- From the Act! Marketing Automation page, click Email Templates in the top navigation bar
- In the top-right of the screen, click Actions > New Template
- Enter a name for the template
- Under type, select one of the following, depending on what this template will be used for:
- Marketing: allows you to create a template with images, video embedding, clickable buttons, and more
- Sales: allows you to create a simple email that looks as though it was composed the same way you would a traditional email message
- Landing Page: allows you to embed a form on a webpage so that you can gather information from people who submit that form to you
- Under Editor, choose the type of text editor you would like this template to use:
- WYSIWYG: Stands for “What You See is What You Get”. This option is recommended for those who are familiar with formatting text within a rich-text editor, or those who are familiar with HTML
- Drag and Drop: Allows you to work with a predesigned template with easy-to-use design tools
Note: Sales templates types only use WYSIWYG and Landing Pages only use Drag and Drop. The ability to choose the editor type is only available when you have chosen Marketing as the type of Template.
- If the template you are creating is a Drag and Drop template, from the Default Template, choose a pre-built template to use as the basis for your new template, or if you would like to create a template from scratch, select Blank from the dropdown.
- Click Create to be taken to the template editor
- Edit the template as desired, then click the Save button to save your changes

Edit an existing Template
- From the Act! Marketing Automation page, click Templates
- Locate the desired template in the list of templates, then click Open for the desired template
- Edit the template as desired, then save the template depending on which editor your template is in:
- Drag and Drop: Click Save in the top-right corner
- WYSIWYG: Hover over Actions in the top-right corner, then choose Save.
