Adding an Image to your template
Before you can add an image to your template, you need to add an Image content block to a row in the template. To do this:
- From the Templates screen in Act! Marketing Automation, open the template you wish to add an image to
- If you do not already have a row that you’d like to add your image to, add one. For information about adding and
managing rows, refer to the following knowledgebase article:

- If not already selected, on the right-hand side of the editor, click the Content tab
- From the Content tab, click and drag the Image block over the template layout
Note: A thick blue line with the words “Drag it here” will appear when you have dragged it over a place where you are able to drop it.
- Drop the Image block in the desired row
- Click the Browse button to be taken to the File Manager
- Click the Insert button for the image you would like to use

- Click the Save button
After you’ve added the Image content block, you may wish to change the way that the image displays, such as the image width or alignment. For information on how to do this, refer to the “Editing Image content properties” section of this article below.
Editing Image content properties
Content properties for images allow you to change the way that the image displays in the template. To change these properties:
- In the template editor, click the image you wish to edit properties for
- In the Content tab on the right, configure the properties as desired, then click Save
The following options are available:
Content Properties
- Auto Width: Enabled by default, this setting will automatically size the chosen image for you
- Width (Slider bar): If Auto width is disabled, allows you to slide a bar to size the image by percentage
- Align: Allows you to align the image to the left, to the center, or to the right side of the template
- Change image: Allows you to change the image that is being used
- Apply effects & more: Allows you to make simple photo edits to your image
- Url: Displays the URL for the image chosen. You can change this by using the “Change image” option
- Alternate text: Allows you to enter a text description of the image. This text is used by screen readers to describe images to recipients who require the use of assistive technology to read the contents of their screen. This text is also used to describe the image in the event that the mail client of the recipient of the template is unable to display images

Image Link: Allows you to turn your image into a link to a website, send email, make a call, or send

Block Options
- Padding: Allows you to set the amount of space between the edges of the image and the edges of the content block. This can be done proportionally on all sides at one time, or the padding for each side can be changed individually by ensuring that the “More options” setting is selected
- Hide on mobile: Allows you to keep the image in this block from appearing when someone views your template on a mobile device
Moving, duplicating, or deleting Image blocks

Moving an Image block: With the desired Image block selected, click and hold the move icon
and drag it to the new position

Duplicating an Image block: With the desired Image block selected, click the duplicate icon
to insert a duplicate of the Text block below the original Text block

Deleting an Image block:With the desired Image block selected, click the trash can/delete icon
read the warning stating that it cannot be undone, and if you’re sure, click Delete
