Issue: Gmail history recording duplicates histories on subsequent syncs.
Product Details:
Product Family: Act! Growth Suite, Act! Pro
Product: Desktop, Web and Cloud
Version: v21.1 Update 4
Update 4 introduces improved security for our Google Integration feature. In some cases email content causes an exception and is resetting 'last recorded date'. when this occurs all emails from the original sync session attach to Act! contact records again, causing duplication.
Answer:
This issue is under investigation (GS-1929). A workaround to avoid duplication is to create a new contact in the database that contains the Gmail email address used to integrate Act!
Please Note: This must be a Contact in the database and not an Act! User.
- Log in to your Act! database
- Use the menu option Contacts > New Contact
- Populate the Name field with something memorable so that you can identify the Contact easily in the future
- Populate the Email field with your Gmail address
- Save your Contact
Emails that would have previously duplicated will now attach to this contact.
