Question: How do I configure Google Integration after installing Act! updates

This article applies to users that have installed one of the updates below:

These updates introduce improved security for our Google Integration feature, in line with Googles updated policy on how third party applications integrate with their services.
To continue to use Google integration, it will be necessary to install the appropriate update for the version of Act! installed and then follow the steps below dependant on your Act! deployment type.
Act! Cloud / Act for Web users:
- From the Apps & Features area of Windows, uninstall the existing Act! Integration component. This will be named ‘Act! Premium (Web) Integration’ in your list of installed applications.
- Right click the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop and choose to Run as Administrator, This may require a Windows administrator password, please see your own IT support to get this.
- Using Internet Explorer, log in to your Act! Database, then select Tools > Integrate with Google > Download Act! Integration to download and install the updated component.
- Once installed, access Tools > Integrate with Google > Google Integration Preferences
- To setup your preferences correctly and ensure that you authorize your Google account to connect to your Act! Database, follow the instructions below. In the Google Integration Preferences window:
- Select the Change… button and ensure that:
- Your Web Service URL is correct; this is the URL you use to access your service
- The correct database is selected in the database dropdown menu
- The Username and Password is populated with valid Act! User credentials
- Press OK to confirm
- Select the Request new OAuth Token button and select Yes when prompted
- Select Allow when prompted to allow Act! Integration to integrate with your Google account. You may be prompted to sign in to your Google account first.
- You can then set your desired synchronization preferences for your Contacts, Calendar and Email. Please refer to the following support article for more guidance on these preferences: How to set preferences for Google and Gmail Integration in Act! v20.1 and later
Desktop client users:
- Right click the Act! icon on your desktop and choose to Run as Administrator, This may require a Windows administrator password, please see your own IT support to get this.
- Log into your Act! database as normal.
- Select the menu option Tools > Integrate with Google > Google Integration Preferences
- To setup your preferences correctly and ensure that you authorize your Google account to connect to your Act! Database, follow the instructions below. In the Google Integration Preferences window:
