Email Authentication for Act! Marketing Automation
Email authentication relies on three major protocols: SPF, DKIM, and DMARC:
- SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is handled automatically on your behalf, there is no action required on your part.
- DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) is handled automatically on your behalf unless you use DMARC (see below).
- DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance) essentially governs authentication by telling recipient email servers what do if either SPF or DKIM fail to align and authenticate. DMARC is configured as a policy on your domain and applies to all email sent from your domain, not just email sent from Act! Marketing Automation. Please contact your domain hosting provider for support with setting up or configuring a DMARC policy.
If you elect to use DMARC, DKIM must be configured with Act! Marketing Automation for your sending domain. Please contact Act! Support to begin the DKIM configuration process.
