Installation Prerequisites
IMPORTANT: Before installing Act!, read the information below.
- Prior to installing Act!, ensure that your computer meets the system requirements. For information regarding the system requirements for Act! v22, go to http://act.com/products/system/v22
- Ensure that you are logged into the computer as a Local Administrator
- If you plan to have two or more Act! users, all connected to the same database and the database is on a separate server, you do not need to install Microsoft SQL Server Express on every computer. However, some features will be unavailable on machines you choose not to install Microsoft SQL Server Express on. For information, refer to the following knowledgebase article:
Do I need to install Microsoft SQL Server when I install Act!? - If you plan to use Microsoft Office integration features, ensure that compatible versions of Outlook, Word, and Excel are installed and working correctly before you install Act!. If you install Outlook, Word, or Excel after you install Act!, the integration will not function.
- Act! v22 automatically installs the Act! Web API. If you have a previous version of the Act! Web API, you must uninstall it before you can install Act! v22. For information on uninstalling the Act! Web API, refer to the following knowledgebase article:
