When a campaign is sent, responses received from the recipient’s mail server are shown on the campaign dashboard and in email statistics.
The email statistics show the data in real time as Act! Marketing Automation receives information although it can take up to 15 minutes for data to start showing.
The recipient mail server may take up to 72 hours to return a response. Until a response is received the recipients will be counted under ‘Not Reported’. Act! Marketing Automation does not provide a list of recipients that are currently counted as 'Not Reported' but it is possible to deduce which records these are by comparing a list of delivered emails to your list of sent emails.
Within 72 hours it is expected that all information on the campaign will have been received, with the exception of a small number of recipients who may open or click the email after this time. A campaign is not considered completed until 72 hours after the send but results can be seen after 24 hours, if not before.
If a mail server responds that the recipient is not available 5 attempts in total are made to deliver the message. After 3 days of attempting to deliver the result for that message is recorded as a bounce; usually relating to timeout and no further attempts to deliver the message will be made. This will then show on the dashboard as a bounce.
Note: some recipient domains rate limit how many sends we can send in an hour which may delay emails to them. These are typically public domains such as yahoo.com and aol.com.
If no information is seen on your dashboard or statistics after a few hours then it is recommended to run a ‘list simulation’ to confirm if there were contacts pulled from the group the campaign was sent to.
