Question: What are the Act! Marketing Automation Default Scoring Profile, AMA Score Field, and Scored Leads Group?

In Act! Marketing Automation it is possible to set up scoring profiles in the Admin section that can be used in your drip marketing campaigns. This allows the system to automatically assign a score to each individual contact who interacts with your campaigns. For example, you could create scoring profiles based around how many times a contact has opened one of your emails, or how many times they have clicked on links within those emails. These scores will then appear within the Marketing Automation tab in their contact record. For more information on this tab, please see the following article:
To assist users in getting started with using scoring profiles, we have added a Default scoring profile to AMA. This profile has been created in all AMA accounts and maps to a new AMA Score field in the Act! contact record. This field will automatically populate as contacts interact with your campaigns and can easily be viewed directly on the contact record. You can perform lookups on this field as normal should you wish to.
A new default group called Scored Leads has been added to all databases as well which has dynamic criteria set to include all contacts that have a value in the AMA Score field. This means that as contacts interact with your campaigns, the default scoring profile will automatically provide a score, which will then automatically update the AMA Score field, and these contacts will then automatically be added to the Scored Leads group, a highly automated a very valuable process in determining your most valuable leads.
NOTE: It may take 24 hours for scores to show and be updated.

Adding the AMA Score Field:
Whilst the Default scoring profile has automatically been added to your AMA account, the AMA Score field available in the contacts section may need to be manually added. The field will be shown on the default layouts for any new databases, however if you have upgraded from an existing database you will need to add the field to your layout.
To do this, simply navigate to Tools > Design Layouts > Contact as you normally would.

Viewing the Scored Leads Group:
For existing and new databases a default group called Scored Leads has been added. To view this, simply access the Groups section as normal, and you will be able to see this group. The dynamic membership criteria will add all contacts who have an AMA Score field greater than 0.
