Question: What is the Functionality of the Marketing Automation Contact Tab?

Answer:
As of v22, a new Marketing Automation tab has been added to the Contacts detail view in Act!. This adds a new level of functionality directly within an individual contact's record making it easier than ever before to see valuable AMA information and to also quickly perform common tasks.
Accessing the Feature:
Make sure you have opened your Act! database in a supported web browser, then open up any contact in the detail view. Select the Marketing Automation tab.
Send Email:
This option allows you to compose and send an email directly to the contact, and this will be sent and tracked by AMA.
Open the Marketing Automation tab and click Send Email.
Compose the email that you want to send, add a Subject Line, then click Send Email.
Alternatively, users can also quickly import content from existing AMA Templates, for messages which they may want to send frequently. Both WYSIWYG and Drag and Drop templates can be used.
In order to allow a template to be used in this manner, you must navigate to the Templates section of AMA, and edit your existing template. Within the editor, go to the Actions menu and choose Properties.
Check the box Allow Sales Access.
Now when you are back in the Send Email section on the contact record (as discussed above), you can choose to import the template. To do so, scroll to the bottom of the page where you will see a dropdown allowing you to Select template for import...
Choose your template from the dropdown list then click Import Template. Once again, add a Subject Line, then click Send Email when ready.
Once the message has been sent successfully, you will receive a confirmation message. Also a History entry will be added to the contact record with the Subject line becoming the Regarding entry. The History Details will be either email opened or email clicked.
Campaigns:
The second option within the Marketing Automation tab allows users to quickly and easily add an individual to an existing drip marketing campaign. It also allows you to view details of any campaigns the contact is currently included within.
In order to add a contact to a campaign, open a contact in the detail view and follow these steps:
- Select the Marketing Automation tab.
- Select the Campaigns tab.
- From the dropdown, select a campaign you want to add the contact to.
- Click Add to Campaign.
Scores:
The final option available on the Marketing Automation tabs allows users to quickly view scoring profile data for the selected contact.
In order to access this feature, open a contact in the detail view and follow these steps:
- Select the Marketing Automation tab.
- Select the Scores tab.
- The tab displays the total score for the contact's campaigns.
NOTE: It may take 24 hours for scores to show and be updated.
