Symptom: Error: "Couldn't sign you in - this browser or app may not be secure" when attempting to request a new OAuth token Google Integration in Act!
Product Details:
Product Family: Act!
Product: Act!
Solution:
We are aware of an issue affecting a limited number of Act! users for which errors are generated when authenticating the Google Integration. These errors stem from security changes implemented by Google and only affect users who have not yet configured their Google sync. Existing Oauth keys and sync capabilities are unhindered.
To resolve this issue, you'll first need to log into your Google account using Internet Explorer
Important note: This needs to be done in Internet Explorer, and cannot be done using other browser such as Chrome or Firefox
To do this, right click the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop and choose to Run as Administrator, This may require a Windows administrator password, please see your own IT support to get this.
Navigate to http://mail.google.com then log into your Google account.
Leave the browser window open and then return to Act!
Go to Tools > Integrate with Google > Google Integration Preferences...
Click Request new OAuth Token... and select Yes on the prompt asking if you have a Google e-mail account.
You should now be able to select your logged in Google account from the menu, and authorise the Swiftpage Act! Integration. Depending on your account security settings, there may be additional verification steps prompted by this window (such as two factor authentication) which will need to be completed.
