Question: Using 3rd Party Plugins with Act! v24
Product Family: Act!
Tier: Pro, Premium & Premium access via web
Act! v24 is a 64-bit program. This means that the installation directory for plugins has changed compared to prior versions.
The installation directories for v23 or earlier are;
Act! Premium C:\Progam Files(x86)\ACT\Act for Windows\Plugins for v24 and above it is C:\Program Files\ ACT\Act for Windows\Plugins
Act! Premium for Web (Installed Application) C:\Program Files\ACT\Act for Web\Plugins for v24 and above it is C:\Program Files\ACT\Act for Web\Plugins
Plugins designed for the Web UI C:\Program Files\ACT\Act for Web\APFW\Plugins for v24 and above it is C:\Program Files\ACT\Act for Web\APFW\Plugins
This will impact 3rd party plugins that are installed prior to an upgrade to Act! v24. It is likely that they will stop working.
Our recommendation is to contact the vendor of the plugin to obtain a version that is compatible with Act! v24 before upgrading and to follow their advice.
If that is not possible attempting the steps below may resolve the issue. The steps below are not supported by Act! LLC and should only be considered as an option when the plugin vendor is not able to offer a solution.
A) Try reinstalling the plugin after the upgrade to Act! v24
B) Attempt to manually move the plugin to the new directory
- Ensure Act! is closed.
- Copy the files related to the plugin from directory mentioned above for example C:\Progam Files(x86)\<Prod Version>\Plugins and paste them in the new plugin directory C:\Program Files\ ACT\<Prod Version>\Plugins
- Browse to C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Roaming\ACT\ACT Data and delete DependentDlls.xml
- Open Act! and validate that the plugin is functioning
If there are any issues contact the vendor of the plugin. Act! LLC does not support the installation or functionality of 3rd party plugins.
